Rose plant or any locally available plant, Bryophyllum leaves,
sharp razor blade, pots filled with soil.
a. Propagation by stem cutting (rose) ▲ CA U TIO N S
1. Take a sharp razor blade and cut 8-10 inches long Use the razor
piece of healthy shoot of rose plant just below a blade carefully.
node. The stem should be cut obliquely and the
cutting should have 2-3 nodes.
2. Clean off the majority of the leaves from the cutting
to prevent massive water loss due to transpiration.
3. Now insert the 2/3 part of the cutting (having at least
one node) into a fertile soil and place the pot under
favorable conditions.
4. Water the cuttings regularly and wait for few weeks.
Observe the cuttings and note the growth of root and
shoot. Draw what you have observed
